10 Gallon Nano
Well since I have a job its my time to start showing how terrible a tank can possibly be. This time around: A 10 gallon with a freshly painted (as in today) black back. Iv been toying around with how im going to scape it and this is what I came up with. I need to get some paint off the sides from where the wind was blowing and I was too hard headed to cover the entire side. I know its a link but with my internet it takes me about an hour to upload 5 pictures onto the forum so I just put them on photobucket.

PS...Yes the walls ARE pink...No they wont be for long...

Re: 10 Gallon Nano
I actually havent decided what I want to put in it yet...I figure il give that a few months and let it get set up and cycled.
Okay heres a pic of my lighting set up so far. Nothing fancy but basically im going to run 4 26W 6500k CFL's and a 13W blue party cfl in the middle. I left room for changing it to 2 13W blue's if 1 isnt enough for the actinic look. I can also of course change bulb size etc.

Aquascaping looks nice. Just make sure you get flow going behind those rocks .

Well boys. Just finished wiring and testing the light. All I have to do is paint the outside black and hide the wiring a little bit and im ready for water. Uploading pics on the photobucket link now.

Re: 10 Gallon Nano
I like the scape, but I would push the rock structure up against the back of the tank. Also, I would epoxy the rocks together for added stability.
I have painted a couple of tank backs black. Masking tape and newspaper helps me keep the paint where I want it.
Are you planning to add reflectors for your CFLs? Might boost your PAR if you can find some that will fit - maybe at HD or Lowes"?

Actually flat white paint is 99+ percent reflective so I just painted the inside. Also added another rock to the scape. I would push the rocks back but I like the interaction the fish can have with it like this. Plus they're hiding my skimmer behind them. I need to find me a PC fan or 2 so I can get some ventilation on it. Thats my next step.

Re: 10 Gallon Nano
Just put tap water in it for a leak/flow check. Im going to let it run for awhile and make sure everythings rinsed good from cleaning and il just empty it and re fill it every day or 2 and make sure its going to hold together. Pictures on the photobucket link already up and im running approx 800 GPH turnover at 12w/gallon

Draining it for final refill now. This time around its getting salt and substrate. Im going with CaribSea's "Florida Crushed Coral". Looks like some promising stuff.

Re: 10 Gallon Nano
Lol wasnt trying to be mean man but I been working 9 hour days every day theres work (even saturday) and I cant even get something for my tank without having to give them just as much as I spend in stuff for the tank for gas...Not trying to vent on anyone or anything sorry. Anyway I got salt water in it and 10 pounds of substrate in. Waiting on the water to clear now I think im going to add more. Im really loving the look of the rubble on the big rock. Its creating a lot of nice caves.

Re: 10 Gallon Nano
Im not entirely sure yet. I think im going to do either a goby/soft coral tank or a goby/sps tank. I was a little...We'll say asleep when I made my stocking list so I need to go back over it today. Still need to add a little more rubble to the tank. Im loving the way it looks though.

Re: 10 Gallon Nano
Just added my seed rock to the tank. Fintastic cant sell in parts of a pound so I had to pay $4 for 2 oz of rock. Glad they didnt want to charge for the whole pound though. That was $16 "Display" rock. S@%# imo...
