Re: Starting a 6 gallon.
So, The kenya tree started to look droopy after Mr. fishy dissapeared. Tried moving it and everything else and it just acts like it hates its enviroment. The shrimp is growing like a weed and I am down to 3 nas snails. I need to get rid of them due to health problems and a few other issues. The tank will be used as a live rock host for now. The 40 will be started when I can take care of a tank again, As for the taro tree etc, I would like to give to one of you so that I know they are taken care of since I cant manage the tank anymore and they are suffering from it. All it will cost is shipping and il send you 3-4 (not sure exactly how many are alive still) nas snails, The kenya, And the peppermint. The keny tree has grown about a inch and is starting to sprout a LOT of new nodes (Grower talk for branches/limbs) I would like to get 10-20 dollars for it so my mom dosent knock me out over the deal though. Anyway, I did manage to get a NICE piece of dry rock harvested from an unknown location from my aunt for christmas. VERY nice piece.
Had another pic but serve image wont let me upload more...

Okay, Scratch the offer on the kenya I just got everything figured out. We're still golden and in fact I will **Hopefully** be moving up to a 20 long with this tank soon.

Well as i have learned my kenya has off days and on days. Or shall we say weeks . Sometimes, most of the time he is fine however every month or few days he will drop for a couple of days. I think its normal.

Well I know I havent been on a lot (computer is giving me trouble) but, The red plague as I call it has spread. Half the tank is covered in the unknown red algae. Still cant find anything about what it may be, Iv reduced feeding replaced my dead snails and nothing is even slowing it down. Kenya is doing better though so I guess thats good news....

It appears that your tank is to small for that bioload. Upgrade fast!

Epic score!!! Im moving up to a 10 sometime this week! YAY! Now, To start picking live stock. I like crinoid squat lobsters and I like lettuce slugs, I might get a slug or 2 and MAYBE a lobster. Im planning on doing an all invert reef (yes I said it, I think it will be VERY interesting)

When did you get a puffer? . Do you think it's a good idea to get all of this stuff? I would have at least a 20L for all this stuff. Whats your current livestock list?

Re: Starting a 6 gallon.
in the mini micro nano? 3 margarita snails (the ones I kept mixing up with nass somehow) a turbo, a pepppermint shrimp and a kenya. Not a hole lot for a 10 gallon tank...
I will clarify though, I dont plan on getting a lot for that 10 I seriously plan on just a slug or 2 more. The puffer is the figure 8 for the 55 remember? I of course am not going to just throw in new stock the second I get the 10 and not let everything balance out either. Trust me, I got this.

Re: Starting a 6 gallon.
Okay so....
- 3 margarita snails
- 1 turbo
- 1 pepp. shrimp
- 1 kenya
That sounds okay for a ten. Next a sea slug? Sea slug or nudibranch? They have very specialized diets and you often need bigger tanks so they don't eat up all their food really fast. Also lobsters can get very territorial and need space. They're also pretty shy. I might get rid of the pepp. and get a skunk cleaner if your looking for something nice. I might also work more on the coral side of things.

Re: Starting a 6 gallon.
Thats what I was thinking about today. I am running into the same problems as every other time out of the gate though. Cheap ******* mom...In other news: It would be a slug if I remember right, Im not even going to start to research anything until I get the 10 that way I know for sure. I have been thinking about getting rid of the pep though because hes a little, Lets say reserved. I have diagnosed paranoia I dont need a shrimp staring at me all day. What I cant figure out however is what I really would like to run with, I want corals. I always want corals, The thing is after corals I have no idea what id like to stock. I know about up to the point of Small and active with a low bio load. After that I am royally lost.

I have to say this made my day!!! . I would for starters get the ten set up, then take it from there. Wait a couple weeks. Enjoy the outdoors, get out of the house. Then when everythings settled down get down to business.

HEY! I get outside all the time. The outdoors is boring when the only thing around you are police dogs though.
