These pics were taking before I got him, I'll post new pics as soon as he's acclimated and in the tank.

Still alive, still eating, just hiding in a little rock cave so I never get to see him
After this weekend when we are done filming the 4-6 hours of HD video for the DVD I am going to rearrange the tanks into a Deepwater biotope, and a tidal biotope tank until I get the main tank finished.

That's a cool fish. Maybe if he got a buddy he wouldn't feel the need to hide? Or are they solitary?

They are the coldwater equivalent of a Jawfish. They prefer to have a nice solid shell or borrow to back themselves into.
Both tanks are getting re-organized soon to make room for a lot of new livestock

Ughh I wish he did. He pretty much just hides all the time. I have to look for him with a flashlight just to find him. I'm going to design a tank for inside my house that he can live in that wont have as many places to hide.

That's so neat. I wish I had one. Is it a voracious predator?

You did just move him to a new tank. I would give it a while and let him familiarize himself with the tank. Maybe then he'll be more of an explorer.AquaticEngineer wrote:Ughh I wish he did. Surprisinly not, I'm sure he takes down what ever gets in his way, but I have never seen him actively hunt. He prefers to get the free shrimp and nori I put in front of him I think.~ocean wrote:That's so neat. I wish I had one. Is it a voracious predator?

True, but even in the 110 gallon he was in before this all he did was hide. I think he's found himself nice burrow though, I'm going to try and make it a little more viewable.

Do the species normally actively hunt?
