Temperate puffers?
Does anyone know of some temperate pufferfish species commonly found off the West Coast? I know of the bullseye but that's about all.

Well, off hand I know of a few from the Atlantic, but... not really!
Might I ask why?

I want a focus specimen that I find enjoyable for my 40! I don't want just a mass of floating vegetation and occasional crustacean here and there ya know.
I just thought of a Fugu puff, the common species (t. ocellatus), but they eat everything I believe.

Well, I can't think of any puffer that won't eat everything! You'll probably have to choose between ornamental crustaceans / pufferfish, IMO.
Good luck, though...
