Okay. No clue but it is FW. When I go over to his place on thanksgiving il take some pics of his tanks. His big one (55 I believe) wiped thanks to his girlfriend trying to help out...So all the fish are new and tiny.

I can get the Fig 8's pretty much anytime I want. Fintastic keeps them in stock. Im just wondering if I should get one before or after the move since im not raising the SG until after.

Whats your SG now? It should be fine getting it now. After all it is in freshwater. When you move (in february?) you can start raising the SG. After all they are going to be kept in FW anyways where they are being held. I would get them now and add a tiny bit of salt.

Theres some salt. It was .001 and I just top off every couple weeks. Everything is at 0 and oxygen levels are fine so I have no reason to do WC. 2 Months still havent had to do one Very Happy

When the water runs clear in the container. The ONLY minor problem is I have no powerhead in the contrainer so im assuming the flow in the tank will make more tannins leak.

I dont care about a LITTLE bit of tannins to make it more natural. But when a 29 gallon container is black? after 24 hours?

I'm pretty sure if you just run carbon in your tank it gets rid of tannins.

Either way. 18 hours and the water is black again. Id rather have no doubts than a black tank honestly.
