I'm glad that he is finally eating. Keep in mind that they are social fish. Or at least like a "community" tank. He might spend a lot of time in that cave of his.

Re: random boredness
Okay so, Today im going to home depot to get a shop light for the 55. 2-32W bulbs for it. Not great but I need it (noticed last night my hoods are only rated for 17W each) Just tested the tank and fed him. Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: Barely over 0 PH: 8.0. Also going to petland and getting a hydrometer if they have the right one and at least one of the lights for the nano.
He devoured half a cube as soon as it landed near him. Im basically letting him be lazy this morning because I fed during lights on and he tries to stay out of the light. Anacharis I also did some research on and im going to have to pull it, Its not a tropical plant. Hoping to get a hygro of some kind at petland if I can afford it so he has some shade.
Quick question: Do you think a little over 1W a gallon will cut it for awhile? Including the reflectiveness of aragonite. I assume the depth of the tank will counter out the reflectiveness but I want a second opinion.
Update: Well, At the end of it all I got 2 java ferns with 2 hornwort tag alongs, My hydrometer, And another goody il post on the tropical topic.

Well, My moms going under the knife wed. So moneys kind of umm...You could call it "tight". Im going to lowes to show up your "King of DIY" challenge today as well as drop off/pick up some applications. Hopefully that 1W/gallon thing wont be more than a couple weeks if I can avoid it.
By the way: How do you think I should raise the salinity? leave the plants in and raise it like .001/week? Or take everything out and raise it .002/week and re acclimate?

Looks nice. I would just change it by .001 a week or however many 0's are in there. Since you have the goby and plants and all.

So, Im going to move the power head back where it was. Junk is building up on the bottom. On another note: Some of the filter floss from my topfin 60 fell into the tank last night.

Re: random boredness
Not really. I dont have it set up as the catch for the dirt, Just as some extra bio filtration. I do need to move the power head back to the bottom though, Its kind of changed the entire flow of the tank. All the debris just sits on the bottom of the tank now. Oh, And I believe my dragon goby has been munching on some snails. I keep finding little crushed snail shells from the few babies that were laid in the tank.
Also I have some algae growing on the hood under the right light.

Re: random boredness
Yeah, I just scared him. Took off the hoods, Cleaned the algae, Put on 80 watts of shoplight 5000k madness. Also grabbed him a 1 1/2" 2' long PVC pipe from lowes for him to hide in. All for under $25 fresh out of the box. need to raise the shoplight up a little bit though, Its just laying on the hoods right now because they only gave me 6" chains to hang it. If I can get pics tonight il post them, If not, They come when they come.

Re: random boredness
Nice. You should make the pvc pipe look more natural by applying sand onto it with some kind of adhesive.

I've seen bigger. I was expecting it to be real thick. How is the goby doing? I'm guessing he likes the stuff.

Mmm, Since I put the pipe in I havent seen much of him. Seen him last night looks like hes grown about half an inch. Hes got a SLIGHT bit of chunk on him since I bought him. Im just assuming thats him regaining his normal weight.
