Okay. So after I couldnt see single anymore, And barfed a couple hundred times. I finally got to sleep at 6 this morning, BUT! when I woke up at 2pm with a hangover; I got constructive, Moved some furniture around in the tank, Modded my air intake for the power head, Broke it...Twice...Got some gunk out of the tank, And made it look better.

Sadly enough. The cost of everything I need this week is already easily in excess of $200. And I just found out my landlords daughter decided (why hes in rehab for a stoke and "mentally unsound" A.K.A. getting f****ed over by his daughter and wife) that they arent doing anything with horses anymore, Sooo, I give it 2 months until we get kicked out if that. 6 until they tear down this house, the stable, the barn, fences, and trees and start developing about 250 acres of horse land. Not to mention the cow land etc if they sell it like she did her land... People and wanting cash, I swear. They already kicked out the guy breaking the horses, Which is sad because hes cool. You know we chill all the time etc. He actually trained my dog to help him break them, Which is good but bad because he wants to buy her from me now... Im still deciding. I think it would be better for her. She needs to work. Cant put a work dog in a house now, Can you?

At any rate, Im sort of nervous about investing anymore into the tank right now. Already have 7 plants il have to uproot and move. Poor things, Already had to ride an hour from the store here, And we all know they crowd plant tanks.

Anyways, Il get some picks up soon.

PICS!

Middle of tank.

Yea, We have a lease until Feb 1st though so we should be able to hold out until my landlord gets out of the hospital. If so itll be a tighter ship, Since i think his daughter is still going to be around more so she can wander into his will... Last i heard from people that know him: 1500 acres is alot for her to get.

If she gets it? Im a pyro. Let her build something out of wood. Very Happy

What do you think about the tank now?

As for power heads, I was looking at a Maxi-Jet 1200 - 295 GPH. After all I have had a good experience with my 400. Aside from the top plate clamps breaking under the pressure of my hand of course. Dang tube didnt want to stay in.

Opinions?

Cloudy. I would go all out on plants and fill the thing up. I don't know much about Maxi-jets but the GPH sounds good enough.

Yea, I had just finished moving stuff around. Also had to play in the sand more than I wanted to since I added the slate to hold up the rock, And added extra sand around both to reinforce.

Any other cheap power head you reccomend? (Why cant I spell that right?) I wanted Eheim, But I cant seem to find them in any stores. Il check next time I go to fintastic though. They have a ton of stuff. I might be able to find it there. Hopefully they got my hydrometer in.

Also should I add the safestart now, Move the guppy back into the 20, And feed with ammonia? Because they sold out of the Figure 8's (Amazingly they had them stocked the first time I went in.) And I believe she said she would order more. And that she would call me. But Im not exactly sure how long about a quart of ammonia would feed the bacteria.

Oh, Also, What about BBG's instead of knights? Since they cant get them in.

Yeah sure. They stay small but if you want it's okay. The dragons wont eat them if you plan on still getting some of them.

Yeah i would add the safe start. How much are the maxi-jets?

Yea, I like the dragons, Knight gobies just seem...Too ordinary for my tastes. Also, How many BBG's would you reccomend? Kind of want to weigh the prices ya know.

As for Maxi-Jets, Range from $20 with $10 off to $28 no discount. But Fosters has them for $24, And I would rather order from them.

Also the tank has already almost finished cycling. Amazingly with no seeding. Ammonia: <0.25 Nitrite: 3 Nitrate: 10. Did a 20% WC after that test. Which im starting to do daily. And my tap comes out at 1.0 ammonia, So that helped make it start without adding it.

Good. I would get a hydro-coralia powerhead. Look online at drs. I would get maybe 8. You might see if you can find a BW schooling fish. Mollies work to. You just acclimate them using the drip method.

Thats how I acclimate ALL my fish now. Im kind of hesitant though as after all this research, My brain is still recovering. Not exactly used to cramming stuff in like its school work anymore. So a lot of what I read right now, I get the basics, I get the point, But as for details or actively remembering it, No way.

Thanks man. I looked at the power head, Talked to my mom. I can only get one this week, But 400 GPH with 106 GPH should do it temporarily. Im going to try and find one in-store. Hate waiting on shipping.

Everything helps. But yea "Carolinas" North and South Carolina are called the carolinas. So im assuming thats what they mean, I may be wrong however.

But now im torn between Archers and Knight Gobies, I like archers for 2 reasons: #1 Free cigarette killer, #2 They like the top of the tank, Dont get me wrong I LOVE bottom dwellers, But I already got 2 fish that like it, And one thats pretty much stuck to it.

As for the BBG's, Too small for my taste. I want you to see the fish not the design.

Size:
Most species, individuals to a maximum length of about six inches, but one to sixteen (Toxotes chatareus)!

Want to avoid the 16 inch one.

Bye the way. Ran the numbers and I can raise my SG up .001, Like, Tomorrow if I start mixing. I was wondering what you think about raising it .001 every couple days, That way I dont shock my plants as much once a week. I want to get started now because the d**n guppy had IP's, And I dont want to wait a couple months for them to clear up. So all living things (accept plants of course) are out of the tank now and waiting on your opinion.

I would immediately raise the sg to the proper level and then keep the plants in a small tank until it cycles or acclimate the plants by the drip method. I would never raise the sg like that. When you get your archer etc. you can just acclimate them using the drip method.

Well, Im trying to avoid taking the plants out since they're just starting to grow good. Plus I still dont have enough buckets/my hydrometer so its impossible to jump it .005 much less check it afterward.

Still havent seeded the tank yet either. Waiting on my ghost shrimp so I can seed this tank and give the other a boost.

How much salt do you have? You might be able to get away with just pouring salt in the tank and letting it dissolve.

Enough to get a 50 gallon tank to full SW according to the bag...Dont have time to check the exact amount though. Might be leaving for a day or 2.
