Fasting Pisaster
What do you do when your seastar actually runs away from the mussel you fed it? How often do you feed your stars? I have kept a bat star that readily ate frozen food, but this star is on a hunger strike. I have had him for 10 days. What else can I try?

Well, the Pisaster ate a couple of Tegulas OK, but I don't have a good source for snails. So I took some frozen thawed scallop and stuffed it into an empty shell, and he ate it. What a relief. Thanks to Aquatic Engineer for suggesting snails.

Good idea with the scallop inside the snail shell! If you do want dome snails for feeders we do a species of temperate periwinkle for most of our feeder snails. You get to feed your starfish and you get a free home for your hermit crabs
We normally sell them for $1 each, but if you need them in larger quantity we can do you a bulk price
Here's the link on to them:
