What Kind of Anemones can be Found in Newfoundland?

Well they are State Beaches.

We have reserves for fossils and animals, but no reserves for beaches. Although there are a few nice beaches in national parks.

Well i don't know how things work in Canada but in the U.S. we have county, state, national, and international parks as well as marine preserves...sorry i was saying reserves .

We have national and inteernational parks too.... They mean the same thing.

A national park is generally the park of a "nation" and international parks are parks between nations...

Wouldn't it be the same thing though? When you think about it, it is between nations no matter what you call it seeing as you have to follow the same regulations no matter where you're from...

After it's been set up for a while I'd definately put anemones in there! There're few and far between around here, but like I said before: I know of a few places.

Yeah. Your tank should be fine with them but you will have a much greater bioload since they are carnivorous.

I know. I'll probably get a sump if I get anemones.

I was going to guess Urticina felina or U. eques, I don't know that there are any Corynactis species in Newfounland, unless Corynactis viridis is ranging over from europe.

Those are nice anemones. I wonder if you have a cornactyis, They might be found in deeper water.

Well, I saw more than the two mentioned above. I'll take pictures soon, if mom ever finds the time to drive me there.

If not you guys'll have to wait 'til April/May to see 'em. The ice is coming, and it stays for a long time.

ice? ick! I might go to college in Maine, I don't know if I'll be able to handle it. I'm sure it's much worse where you are. I've always wondered how the intertidal anemones survive freezing, it seems like there would be damage.

Ice is cruddy, but I love snow!
