likely "sea-gooseberries" though there are many common names to choose from - phylum ctenophora. True jellies are in the phylum cnidaria, along with corals and anemones. Ctenophores do not sting, or do much of anything. They mostly look like clear orbs of jelly, but they have a whole phylum to themselves, so there is some variation.
