My Coldwater Setup From New Zealand
Hey everyone. First post here. Little about myself I'm 15 years old and live in the Tauranga, New Zealand. I keep a coldwater/temperate marine aquarium. Which has been up and running approx 3-4 months now and is going great. Its 1.5m by 60cm by 60cm so about 540L, with a 200L sump that is situated outside in the garage and the tank is in a different room. Stocking consists of 3 triplefins and a spotty or parketti wrasse . I'm always on the hunt for new fish ( out fishing like everyday lol) but have been unable to catch anything i want yet, ( Leatherjackets and a scorpion fish ). Anyway heres a few pix.

It looks like you have some strawberry anemones in there too! You should post A TON of close up shots on your fish and inverts

Haha thanks guys, it's bloody hard to get close ups haha, our camera is pretty bad. I've got a few more pics that ill upload now that give you a better idea of the tank. The fish are nothing special just common ones. Wanting more unusual ones now but they are just so hard to get lol

Yeah.
Ornate Boxfish - Aracana aurita
Also can your tank be viewed from the other side and what are you feeding your strawberry nems?

Re: My Coldwater Setup From New Zealand
nah we don't get the ornate here I'm pretty sure. You must be thinking of australia cause I know they get it there.
and na it can't be viewed from behind but both sides and the front. The backs up against the wall.
Feeding the strawberry nems, mysis shrimp, bloodworms, they catch the food for the fish as well like flake and pellets also bits of mussel. Basically whatever they can catch =]

I see. Yeah now that i think of it it was australia. Do you maintain any filter feeders like barnacles in your system?

Re: My Coldwater Setup From New Zealand
yup I'll post some pics of the sump later. Sorry for double post i re-read thread and didn't realize there was two pages lol. I think filter feeders are pretty hard to keep unless your doing large frequent water changes, or dosing phytoplankton.
