No. The Live rock shelf piece. Didnt work out the way I wanted it to. Now its more of a seeder piece that just kind of makes the right side under the power head a tunnel.

Have fun. Don't make a mess of your room. Whenever i rearrange aquariums there seems to be an earthquake with the epicenter being that aquarium Laughing.

Wow. Check the NR coral library. http://www.nano-reef.com/corals/ I didn't see anything but you might. Looks like a brain coral or something. I posted a thread on RS to.

Yea me too. Tanks finished being rescaped. I have that weird looking piece that its on (the pointy coral looking one) straight up in the air so the coraline side and the coral side gets light. Then on the left side I have one piece of base as the base of the tower. then the shelf and another piece of base to hold it there. Then a little triangle of base in the open center just to get seeded for no reason.

I wish i had at least a little 1 gallon filter for mechanical filtration. Takes FOREVER for this thing to clear.

Do you think you can sustain it in your tank?

Should have no problems sustaining it actually. I mean I havent noticed any fluxes in temp or anything aside from that heat spike thanks to windows being left open. I also will get some frozen plankton next week from petsmart and drop in maybe 1/4 of a cube once a week. Until it gets bigger and work my way up to an entire cube a couple times a week once its full grown. According to everything I read they all agree on 2 things: #1: dosent need any supplements as long as you have a lot of calcium in your tank (Il be getting calcium and phosphate etc test so I can dose that.) But, Plankton or brine shrimp feeding occasionally does help. And #2: It has arms that it extends at night that can reach as far as it is big. For example: If its 8 inches it can shoot out 8 inch arms. So it is best to keep it where it cant hurt other corals.

Oh wait. Actually 3 things: If touched by a fish hand snail etc. it will react agressively.

So, My basic idea is figure out if the arms can float through the water or have to stay attached to something if its attached I can keep button polyps on the other island for awhile, Maybe permanently. If its float, I guess I have my star coral.

So you're fine as far as lighting goes? I'm pretty sure the arms stay attached to the coral and they probably can wave around in the water. However if you check the thread on RS i believe that not the favia but the other brain had sweeper tentacles.
