Ah shame. Have you experienced much growth in anemones?

Must have been someone elses thread. Anyways how long did it take you to get all of your biological filter bacteria established?

Other question. I noticed you had a wrasse. Pictures would be great but is there any relation in temperament and caring to tropical species?

Re: My Coldwater Setup From New Zealand
Biological filter prob took 3 months or so. But I don't have a lot of stock, (3 fish) so it really wasn't a big deal.
Yup got a wrasse, called a spotty more commonly but yea its a wrasse. Pix are hard to get of it so fast lol. I'd say it is quite similar to their tropical counterpart, as they still eat snails and pods etc. But this species is quite slow growing and mine is barely 10cm long.

Very much like my 6 lined if you ask me. Never stops moving. Maybe a video? It would be great if you could collect enough information so that we could possibly create species profile.
Thats about right. Well it seems like all the information i have gathered about temperate aquariums is all right.

Yea pretty similar to a 6 line I'd say and a video could be the way to go. Just a pain uploading them. I think I've got a vid of some kahawai in my tank eating that I used to have. And I could could do up a species profile if you want, chuck it on the site somewhere.
And sweet =]

Yeah that would be great. Just check the information center species profile to get a general idea of what you need to collect.

See a few octopus, but the way they can escape from even the smallest gaps, would be impractical in my tank. Would be cool though.

Yeah it would. How big do you see them? All you need is a tight fitting cover of some sort.

Re: My Coldwater Setup From New Zealand
See octopus range of sizes but the ones around here get pretty big. Smallest i seen was 50c coin, which a mate caught but escaped tank and died.
Tanks going good, found a pump to run the chiller with bit noisy but all good cause its free. Haven't needed the chiller yet with the sump outside but figured it can't hurt to get it going.

+1.
The sump is outside? It must stay pretty cold in New Zealand! I could do that in the winter but in the summer it gets to hot.
