wierd little bug things :/

hey guys, ive got hundreds of these strange little bug things in my tank.... they look like mosquito larvae, moved like a caterpillar, and spend most of their time standing erect and seemingly catching microscopic stuff... any ideas on what these things are ?????

From the movement you described I'd say they're something called caprellid amphipods.

just googled it and they look pretty much exactly the same granted that google images are blown up ofcourse... thanks for clearing that up for me
