He planned it that way. Check the blog (on the homepage of TR). I like it actually.

*I am going to go with a 7 gallon instead and try to make it look like a zero edge so it fits my rooms modern theme.

If you haven't already, read this - it talks some about filtration. I've gotten more info from him specifically, which is what convinced me to get one.

Okay well here are bad pics for the cycling tank. Decided to go with a 7 gallon and make it a zero edge Very Happy. I know i need more rocks to. But it is just a cycle tank.

Thats not a zero edge lol. Zero edge tanks have the water flowing over the sides of the aquarium lol <- I hope yours isn't anyway, its on wood lol

Updates: Got more rocks. All the rocks are granite Very Happy. It will look great once i get anemones on those rocks because they will stand out so much.

I can get natural lighting from dawn 'til dusk, so I should be fine.

Thanks. Yeah they were some form of tube worm, carnivorous i assumed since they never had any feathers but about four tentacles.

Not really. They had orange rings around parts of them with bright blue spots situated around their "head."
