From what I've read about one species of Gracilaria it prefers subtidal habitat in sheltered locals so I would guess it prefers not very warm (less than 18C) water temperatures and not very high intensity light. I have a species of gracilariopsis which is supposed to be nearly indistinguishable from gracilaria. It is said to prefer more exposed and intertidal habitat. It seems tolerant of higher temperatures and requires lots of light.

Ummm so i guess Alga Gracilaria will be out of the topic.... mine is a 75º tank... with normal lighting....

And what about Caulerpa racemosa? could it live properly at 1.020 SG?

incredibly pretty good i must say.
well i guess, reading all that topics, and links this will be good parameters for C. Racemosa:

SG: 1.022
Ph: 7.8 y 8.3
KH: 13 dkh
NH3-NH4: 0 mg/L
NO2 y N03: 0.3mg/L
PO4: 3 mg/L
Ca:350 ppm
Mg: 1250 ppm
Tº: 24-25º

Lighting: 2 T5 6500 Kº(40W), 1 T5 (40W) 10.000Kº
fertilizer: i think i will add some external nutrients like iron, calcium, N, K & P using Flourish seachem fertilizer, dosing by bio-indicators on the algae.

¿what do you think? will take the ride?

macros can go sexual... when they do they die and release all the toxins that they have been storing. 24/7 lighting is the way to ensure that they don't go into sexual mode.

Looks like you've gotten most of your questions answered!

Aquascaping can be rather difficult, but, I will be looking forward to those pictures. Very Happy
