Hi all

I've been keeping this tank for about 18 months after 10 years of tropical reefkeeping

Hello and welcome!

That's what I like to see. Tell us about your tank. Is it all collected yourself?

Thanks Michael

Luckily I have 3 kids and a wife who love rockpooling and between us we catch a lot of stuff - only a very selct few make it into the tank these days though. I recycle the livestock fairly frequently, releasing animals as they grow larger.

I've been keeping a blog on my tank over the last few weeks just to remind myself what I was up to at a given time. I look back over the last 10 years or so of reefkeeping and wish I had a record of why I did stuff. This particular tank is 18 months old and for the last 3 months I've been concentrating on creating a British reef aquaria reflecting the local kind of biotope - specifically Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset. I've released my larger fish and crabs, cut right back on the bioload and watched everything burst back into life!

The coralline algaes are doing well, balancing salinity, temperature and lighting is paying off. I'm also getting decent new macro-algae growth. Its nowhere near as pretty as the wild thing yet - but its getting there. Laughing
