Easy. Lets see if I can spell it right without checking. Garibaldi damsel. I think thats right. Native to california they are temperate like catalina gobies and get quite large.

Well aren't you smart and right. I see them all the time when i go in the water . They have really sharp teeth though. Oh, and if you don't want to look like a complete fool in CA, i would drop the damsel part. While a damselfish, in California they are most commonly referred to as simply: garibaldi. .
