Who Loves Cuttles?
I don't have a cuttle and probably never will as they are very hard to keep in captivity and very rare to buy.
However, they are facinating! There was a show on them on PBS a month or two ago and I was hooked. (Pardon the expression!) http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/camo/ There's plenty online, but here is wiki's page on them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuttlefish

I went through a cuttle phase . I joined the TONMO forum but never posted because as soon as i learned their life span i lost interest... . It would be great to breed them though. Heres another article. http://www.tonmo.com/articles/basiccuttlefish.php
Here's a video. I'm not sure if there are cuttlefish in their but i'm pretty sure there is one. BTW this is in the Australian temperate reefs.

The PBS special said they live 2 years in the wild, but I guess only 6 months in captivity.

Sorry- I might have. But then I didn't see it....?
No I don't know what kind it is. I was so caught up in taking pictures. There were two of them- same kind.

Yes! They had those in the NOVA episode. They are actually poisonous. They tested one that was about to die because of its colors and sure enough- poisonous! They are small, too. They kind of walk instead of swim along.

So fascinating. I love cuttlefish again.
Did anybody watch the video above? I can't remember if it was a cuttlefish or and actual fish that was in it.

I did try a baby trop cuttle a year ago but lost it after a few months. Fed it on live mysis but couldn't adapt it to frozen.
Would you have any tips on feeding?

Re: Who Loves Cuttles?
Just feed it live foods. Some animals just wont take frozen. I think that's why they are labeled as difficult cephalopods to raise. How big was the cuttle?
